Meeting Purpose

Replace the existing structurally deficient bridge. The existing structure needs to be replaced as the concrete slab & encased beam superstructure exhibits large hollow areas, exposed & rusted rebar, concrete deterioration & active leakage. The existing bridge does not pass major storm events, resulting in the overtopping of US Route 1.

The public update meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. Persons with limited internet access may request that project information be mailed to them by contacting Louis Bacho by email at louis.bacho@ct.gov or by phone at 860-594-3212. (Allow one week for processing and delivery.) A Question and Answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation. Plans of the proposed project will be on display for public review on the Town of Greenwich’s website. Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project. More detailed information is available at the Department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. & 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.
